First steps in felting

Just made this, my first attempt at felting. It's supposed to be a little bit Rothko. I'm quite pleased with it. I'm thinking of doing a series in the same colours to hang on my bedroom wall.

Here's a bit of detail. I have to say felting is great fun and very messy. It's probably better done in the garden when the weather gets warmer rather than in the kitchen which isn't very tidy. (Ro believe me, you don't have room!!!)

Great fun though; isn't it? Mind I can't say I get that wet but you do need space and plenty of elbow grease for some fleece !!. I'm off to do more needle felting on Monday at my friends & maybe some wet felting as well

Wow. Looks great. Is that the rest of the stuff that was either brown or white? Can't remember the breed!

no pet that's some of the stuff I got pre-dyed from Wingham. Apparently meriono felts best of all so I thought I'd start out with that.

Oh, yes, very Rothko! I love it! Have you ever seen his work in the flesh? I think they're great anfd love the fact that some of his work which was detined for a restaurant he tried to paint to put people off their meals!
Oh and I agree that felting is great messy fun and must try more!

Gorgeous! I have to agree with you on the fair-weather felting though. I have ambitions of doing more felting when I get out to Spain next year and know that it will be baking hot and dry outside in minutes rather than be hanging around on my radiators for three days! I love those colours, it'll make a lovely wall hanging thing.

Never felted but I'm inspired seeing your results - looks gorgeous, hot: Despite Kath's comment on Rothko's intentions, I'm sure yours wouldn't put you off whatever you do in the bedroom. teehee.
What ebay link would that be, Artis-anne? she said curiously...
